Auto week-end - stages V-VI for side speed race

In 19-21 May 2006, at Resita took place the stages V and VI of the National Championship for side speed racing. On Thursday, 18th of May, the viewers eager for strong sensations meet the pilots attending the championship for the side speed race.

Friday 19th of May

In the V-th stage, on the Valea Domanului line, the pilot Victor BALDESCU succeeds to cross the finish line in 1 minute and 55 seconds, followed by Constantin RUSU at 5 seconds difference and Eugen PETEANU in 2 min. 00 sec and 7 hundreds. All three were followed in classification by Lucien HORA and Mircea PADUREAN from UCM Resita, also by the pilot Eugen PETEANU. In beginners classification Ovidiu MOTIOC succeeds to outrun Claudiu RUSU, and in general team classification, UCM Resita maintains the leader position.

Saturday 20th of May

U.C.M. Resita S.A. organized around noon, both for the pilots, members of the Romanian Federation for Sport Motoring, and for referees, a visit within U.C.M.R Company that has a tradition of 235 years of continuous operation.

At Polyvalent Sports Hall in Resita few hours later, took place a football game between the representatives of mass-media, organizers, line officials and FRAS officials, pilots from the championship for side speed race and from rally team.

This was followed by a press conference held by the members of the Rally Team UCM Resita. The evening continued with a show provided by CLASS group and the solo singer CORINA. Among other musical moments, the viewers met the pilots Mihai LEU, Gunther GRAEF, Lucian PREDA, Valentin PORCISTEANU and their copilots from Rally Team UCM Resita, also the members of the Racing Team UCM Resita (the Championship for side speed race) and Moto Racing UCM Resita (Speed Motoring).

Sunday 21st of May

Lucien HORA succeeded to repair the engine of his car damaged during the V-th stage, being able to take the START also to obtain the best stage time of 1 min. 59.sec. Constantin RUSU was again on the second place, and Mircea PADUREAN wins the N Group, as well as the third place in OPEN Classification, Victor BALDESCU abandoning the race. The representatives of the Rally Team UCM Resita, Mihai LEU, Gunther GRAEF, the champion en-titre of the side speed race, and Valentin PORCISTEANU offered pleasant moments for the public in Resita, Graef achieving the 4th time on VALEA DOMANULUI, 2 min 01 sec 882 s, but with a car prepared for the rally stage from Piatra Neamt. Eugen PETEANU was classified on the 5th place.

At prize awarding there was a festive moment in the memory of the last year vice-champion at the beginners' class, the late Alexandru STOICAN, the organizers awarding the trophy Duti STOICAN to the beginner recording the best time at Resita Cup 2006, the pilot Marius PETRE. The cup "King of the Hill" was awarded to Victor BALDESCU.
